Favourite Action Game

This is another category where I could easily use one of the many Metal Gear games as my winner, but to be fair I can't keep talking about the same old games. So for this one I'm going to go with one of the newer franchises out there, Uncharted.

To be more specific I'm choosing Uncharted 2 which is easily one of the very best games I've played in the last few years. This is not down to just one thing but the entire package. The gameplay is top notch whether it be the platforming, the gun play, the puzzles, it all just clicks. The characters are some of the most likeable you will find in any video game. The relationship between the lead Drake and his partner Sully is so well written, you will feel like you have known both for years. The voiceover work for these characters is also a joy to listen to.


Then there is the look of the game which is just untouchable, it looks stunning from start to finish whether you are in the arctic, jungles or in museums. So much care and attention has been taken to make the game stand out from all others.


I consider Uncharted Sony's flagship title for the PS3 and look forward to the upcoming sequels on the PS3 and new handheld, the NGP. No other game in recent memory seems to tick every box the way Uncharted does and unlike many modern games, it has an instant replay factor.

If you needed any reason to own a PS3, then Uncharted 2 is just that.
