30 Day Video Game Challenge - Day 13

The obvious choice for many people would be Goldeneye and while that is a fantastic game it's not the game I spent countless hours on and still play to this day. The best N64 game in my eyes is WCW vs NWO Revenge.
Revenge was the followup to WCW vs NWO World Tour and is without question the very best wrestling game I've ever played. The control scheme is perfect with it's strikes and grapple moves varying in strength and type depending on how long you hold a button down and in what direction you press the D-pad.
The cast of characters is fantastic and comes from the time when WCW had all the early 90's big names and a plethora of new stars from all over the globe. If you want to play your dream match of Scot Hall vs Juventud Guerrera vs Raven vs AKI Man in a ladder match, then you can do just that.
Countless hours were spent playing this game on my own and even more with friends. This is the last game I remember playing with a group of mates that were in the same room. This was before online gaming and the frankly insocialble modern way of multiplayer action.
When wrestling games are released today, the reviews you read always mention whether or not fans of WCW Revenge and it's followups such as WWF No Mercy will enjoy the new yearly update. The one thing these new modern games have in common is they always fall short.
I long for the day that a new WWE games is as much fun to play as WCW Revenge and truth be told I can never see that day coming. For now my wrestling gaming will remain on the N64.

This was awesome, still the best wrestling game, although there are more dead wrestlers in this than most "Legends of Wrestling" games.
