Favourite Super Hero Game
I'm a huge comic book fan and due to this I've been suckered in and played numerous bad super hero video games. This has been a trend since I was very young with each system I owned having it's fair share of comic book related games and them all being bad. The less we talk about Superman on the N64 the better.
However, this horrible trend came to an end in 2009 with the release of Batman Arkham Asylum.
Finally a developer took a comic book license and treated it with the respect it deserves. Rather than putting a subpar game together and relying on the license to sell it, Rocksteady (the team behind Arkham Ayslum) managed to merge a great game, great story and perfect characterisation.
Arkham Asylum has the perfect mix of combo based combat, stealth sections akin to Metal Gear Solid and puzzle sequences. All these pieces fit together to make the game exactly what comic book fans have wanted for years.
The sequel, Arkahm City, is due out later this year and I for one can't wait. I would happily accept more of the same but I'm sure Rocksteady will move forward with the series and pull something fantastic out of the bag.
