Best Wii Game

The Wii is a funny little console.  There are countless games released on the system and the majority of great games are made by Nintendo themselves, the remainder seem to be just party based mini game collections with no real love or thought out into them.

The majority of games I've played on the Wii are the Nintendo franchise titles, and the best of these is Super Mario Galaxy.

Mario games are always excellent, I've loved them since I played Super Mario World on the SNES and have played most, if not all of the platform style adventures since.

Super Mario Galaxy takes the ever excellent platforming of previous Mario titles and spins it on it's head, literally.  Each world is a little planet that you can run the full circumference of.  At first this is quite disorientating but soon becomes second nature.

As with most Mario games, you can get through to the end with the minimum amount of levels completed but it's a true challenge to complete all the stages and collect everything that is on offer.  Some of the levels are downright mean in how frustrating they can be but more often that not, its you, the player, who is at fault for messing them up.  Whether it's a mistimed jump, not paying attention to the Goombas around you or just missing the point of the task at hand, you will find yourself playing certain levels over and over until you get it right.

Mario Galaxy is another fantastic step forward for the worlds favourite pulmber and a must for any Wii owner out there.
