A Game You've Played Countless Times

I mentioned a few games I've played over and over again already in my blog such as Streets Of Rage 2, Lumines, Street Fighter 2 and Super Mario World.  So to avoid repeating myself about games I discussed before, I'm going to pick the Daddy of all rhythm games, Rock Band. 


Rock Band was the first rhythm game to enable you to be able to play with your friends as, well a full rock band.  The game utilises a plastic guitar, drum kit, microphone and in the third instalment a keyboard.  You are given the task of hitting the correct coloured buttons or signing the correct lyrics as they appear on screen.  Depending on the difficulty you choose, the harder the sequence of buttons you have to hit is and the speed that they appear is much, much faster.


The music selection in Rock Band is second to none.  There is something in there for everyone whether you like rock, metal, indie, country or folk.  For the more specialist fan there are also versions of Rock Band based on individual artists such as AC/DC, Green Day and my personal favourite of the entire series, The Beatles.


I own all of the Rock Band series on my PS3 and have put countless hours into all of them,  A great feature they have is the ability to transfer the songs on to your hard drive so you can play the full Rock Band back catalogue from just one disc.  As well as this there are almost 2000 songs at present that you can download for 99p each to add to your ever growing library.


Rock Band is the perfect party game and I've had to pull out all the instruments for groups of friends to play with on many occasions,  It's fun for all the family and for all skill levels.  I'm sure I will be putting in many more hours with my computer generated band and my plastic guitar in the future, rocking like only I can.
