Favourite Multiplayer Game

This generation of consoles has seen a boom in online multiplayer games with first person shooters ruling the roost.  Games like Call Of Duty and Halo have a massive online community and I too am a part of this.  The game I've recently put countless hours into and have enjoyed much more than the others in the same genre is Killzone 3.

The online aspect of Killzone 3 is just brilliant.  The main thing that sets Killzone apart from games such as Call Of Duty is that rather than just having a set deathmatch or capture the flag mode, all the modes are included in one online match.  When one team has won the bodycount mode (kill as many of the opposing team as you can), it will then change to a capture and defend mode.  The team with the most wins out the variety of modes played at the end of the game wins.

Much like with other online FPS, you can upgrade your loadout to incorpoate different perks and weapons.  Killzone has a range of classes to choose from to fit your style of play.  If you want to be a run and gun style of player, it's best to choose the infiltrator class which offers you a range of impact weapons and a cloaking device so you appear as a member of your opposing team for a short period.  If you like to be able to support your teammates by healing them, choose the medic class.  There is a class for everyone.

I've been lucky enough to play Killzone 3 as part of a clan made of of members of the GamerDork forum which has made the game even more fun to play online.  I really recommend playing Killzone 3 with friends if you can as it has been some of the best online gaming experiences I've ever had.
